Chili Cook Off 2009
The Lansdowne 2nd Annual Chili Cook Off was a great time this Saturday! We had 6 contestants enter and many tasters to judge the great chilis. All the chilis were delicious & different...fun to try them all! In the end, John Buchanan maintained his title of Lansdowne Chili King for the 2nd year! Congratulations, John! Hearty congratulations to 2nd Place Winner Michael Basch and 3rd Place Winner Marcus Schrichte! All winners received gift cards to local businesses. Big thanks go out to Lee Atherton & Lauren Stafford for their chili entries. Hopefully next year we'll have even more entries to add to the fun!
Thank you to so many people for making the event so nice. To all of the contestants, again, THANKS! To Cindy Sullivan for counting our votes and announcing our winners, THANK YOU!! For making an awesome reusable Chili Cook Off sign & offering future assistance in the sign-making department, THANK YOU to Theresa & Michael Basch. Thanks to Brianna Bradford for pulling the Bessey family's name out of the raffle pot for the gift basket. For Laurie Thomas, a huge thank you for checking in before the event to offer assistance...it means so much! And, for help in the clean up, thank you to the Bessey family & to Heidi Ellis (thanks for the cornbread too, Heidi!). What a great community we have with Lansdowne!

Octoberfest Thanks!
Thanks to all the neighbors who came out to celebrate a Lansdowne Octoberfest this past Saturday! Thanks to Lee Atherton for making the cupcakes, Erin Sullivan and Emily Wells for handling the kid's craft, and everyone who helped set up & clean up (Jim, Joyce, Carolyn, Tom, Marissa, Jorge, Drew, Rose, Rosie, Rob, Marcus & Jane...I hope I named everyone!). John & I have really appreciated all the kind words & volunteer help we've received over this past year on the Social Committee.
Thanks so much! --Linda

Lansdowne Neighborhood Yard Sale
The kids are back in school and the holidays will soon be upon us, so why not take some time to clean out your garage and participate in the Lansdowne Yard Sale. Plan to be out there on Friday and Saturday, September 25th and 26th from 9 AM to 3 PM. The event will be advertized in the Gwinnett Daily Post and the Atlanta Journal. Contact Cindy Sullivan if you would like to participate and have a balloon tied to your mail box during the yard sale days.
